[HatOb_317] Letter of Tit

A letter written on a papyrus with a black ink, folded and addressed "Tit to his lord Djehuti" on the back of the sheet. The text seems to be part of conversation concerning Ptah-Sokar and his deed against the people of Heliopolis. The sender asks Djehuti for contact with the Herald Gereg-men-nefer probably to get some information necessary for refer the matter to the Greatest of Seers.

Discovered in 1926-1927 season in rubbish near foundation deposit 9 , i.e. near the northeast corner of the Lower Courtyard of the temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari. Acquired by the Museum in the division of finds in 1927.
