necropolis

Necropolis is located in a sandstone plateau 1 km northwards of the main necropolis of the Qubbet el-Hawa on the Western Nile bank and is directed to the river.

So far, only one tomb most probably from the reign of Hatshepsut/Thutmose III was discovered at the necropolis north of Qubet el-Hawa (QHN 4). The rock-cut tomb was constructed for the Mayor of Elephantine, Amun-hetep. The plan of the tomb consists of the courtyard, traverse hall, long corridor and the room with the ceiling supported on two pillars. The facade of the tomb was decorated. As other tombs of the necropolis, the tomb was looted.
