niche
The niche design for the statue of Sen-en-mut measures 1.32m of height and 0.77m of width and is 0.6m deep. The statue is much defaced and it represents a figure seated on a bench which is 0.47m high. The niche is raised 18cm above the level of the floor. According to R.A. Caminos and T.H.G. James the body of the statue is unnaturally thick which suggests that the figure of Neferu-Ra seated on his knees could be sculptured there,[1] A. Kucharek proposes to see the naos placed on the knees of Sen-en-mut, not seated Neferu-Ra.[2] The walls of the niche are undecorated.
